A story about River Phoenix
I was 13 when he died, and I have always been disturbed by his death. Maybe it’s because he was so young, maybe it’s because of how he died, or maybe it’s because i was so young and just entering my adolescent years of obsessing about beautiful men. Even still, maybe it’s because he was a deeply interesting and involved person who seemed almost unreal and completely out of reach to anyone. In the end i guess he was out of reach to everyone. I have always wished i had met him. I still have dreams about him occasionally, and he’s always smiling and laughing and walking hand in hand with his first girlfriend, the amazing Martha Plimpton. Maybe it’s a hope that when we each die, we live on somehow, somewhere with our soulmate at our side.
